Welcome aboard the Jeannie D. She is a 38′ Henriques Sport fisherman that was built to order to the Captain’s discriminating specifications in 2005. She is a fast Cummins powered and tournament rigged fishing machine that is equipped with all the “bells and whistles”. She is loaded with Furuno electronics that include radar, sounder and a chart plotter that are networked together on the bridge and in the cockpit. Your trip can also be memorialized via a built in color and night vision camera. She is equipped with an array of Penn International and Shimano rods and reels ranging from 12s for light tackle fishing to 130s to catch the biggest of game fish. The inventory also includes a Penn International 9 weight flyrod to accommodate the occasional fly fishing aficionados. Anglers may choose to fight fish stand up style or in the Release fighting chair. The Jeannie D. also boasts a 32′ Hamaguchi Hybrid Greenstick installed on the bridge. The Greenstick fishing system is a true game changer in catching all types of pelagic species, but especially Tunas. It is truly exhilarating to see Yellowfin and Bluefin Tunas leaping out of the sea to crush the artificial Squids and/or Flying fish dangling from the mainline. While the Greenstick and bandit reel are generally used for commercial fishing, the system can also be rigged with releases and rods and reels for recreational fishing.
On those warm or chilly days you may enjoy the comfort of the Jeannie D.’s air conditioned and heated salon. And for your safety concerns, the Jeannie D. is equipped with life jackets, immersion suits, epirb, VHF radios, satellite phone, life raft, Automatic Identification System (AIS) and water tight bulkheads. In fact, the Jeannie D. successfully passed the USCG’s comprehensive ” Dockside Safety Exam” applicable to offshore commercial fishing vessels.
