Intarsia Wood Art

Based on popular demand, Captain John has decided to offer several of his custom crafted marine life intarsia designs for sale. Intarsia wood art is a mosaic like picture cut from wood with a band saw and/or scroll saw. Different woods, including exotic woods, are selected based upon their grain and color to provide the color and depth of perception of each piece (stains and paints are not used). The pieces are cut and fitted together like a jig-saw puzzle to add the depth. Because these are custom crafted by Captain John, and will be carved upon request, please allow 4 to 6 weeks from time of request to delivery. From the Canyons off New Jersey to the Gulf Stream of the Outer Banks, the “ Jeannie D “ is no stranger to the fleet. The boat is outfitted with the latest in electronic navigation, sonar, radar, temperature gauges etc. she’s a mean fishing machine owned and operated by Captain John Overpeck with over 25 years of experience. The East Coast has its fair share of charter captains, each with their own unique style of fishing. In my experience Captain John is in a class of his own. What separates Captain John from most charter captains are his intimate knowledge of local and southern waters / charts, his USCG Credentials ( 150 ton Master Captain ), diverse styles of fishing, instinct and pure love of the sport. As a Mate and Captain I’d like to personally thank Captain John for taking the extra time to teach me the many techniques of Giant Bluefin Tuna fishing, tournament fishing and routine boat maintenance.
